Bioremediation

PT. Pengelola Limbah Kutai Kartanagara (PT. PLKK) provides bioremediation services for companies that are engaged in exploration and production of petroleum and natural gas. PT. PLKK applies landfarming techniques by spreading waste or contaminated soil in open space. The bioremediation technique is designed to process waste of oil sludge, oil contaminated soil, cutting, and other types of hazardous waste.

Total Petroleum Hyrdocarbon (TPH) level requirement of received waste for bioremediation process must not more than 15%. Using special technology, PT. PLKK can reduce the level of TPH to less than 1% in just one month. The time is shorter than normal cycle of landfarming which takes about 6 months. This shorter cycle time can reduce the operating cost of bioremediation.

PT. PLKK serves ex-situ and in-situ bioremediation. The result of bioremediation process is devoted to develop a green open land around the operation area.
