Why name PT. Pengelola Limbah Kutai Kartanegara (PT. PLKK)?
We named our company by PT. Pengelola Limbah Kutai Kartanegara (PT. PLKK) on two considerations. Firstly, it is because our operation is located in region of Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, precisely at Gunung Pasir, Kelurahan Kuala Samboja, Kecamatan Samboja. Secondly, we followed recommendation of Kabupaten Government and Provincial Government to make the kabupaten name of our operation area into our company name.
What services of PT. PLKK?
We provide management services of hazardous waste that comes from activity of exploration and production of petroleum and natural gas, mining as well as other industries. Hazardous waste management that we have done consist of transportation, collection, storage, utilization, and treatment. Every stage of the activities is equipped with facilities that are suited with type and characteristic of the treated waste. Type of wastes are oil sludge, cutting, contaminated soil, used dust-cloth, used filter, used oil, etc. Waste treatment services that we provide are Sludge Oil Recovery (SOR), dewatering, waste water treatment by Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP), bioremediation, and thermal destruction by incinerator. Other services that we provide are tank cleaning and solid control.
Can PT. PLKK manage waste on national scale?
Yes, we can manage waste on national scale. Legally, we have recommendations and permits license for transporting waste in several big islands in Indonesia, both from Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Transportation.
What are advantages of PT. PLKK compared to other provider of waste management services?
In term of cost, PT. PLKK delivers the lowest cost for waste treatment to the customers compared to other provider of waste management services. PT. PLKK does not only act as a collector of waste, but we manage the waste from the initial waste collection until final waste treatment, waste utilization and waste disposal. We also have implemented the technologies and special methods for managing waste which are not owned by other provider of waste management services.
